Information/ Instructional Design : Definition

With such an increase in communicative media on an international scale, it comes to no wonder that there is a necessity for this complicated mass of communication to be clear, accessible and understandable across all forms of media:

"My quote is 'The only way to communicate is to understand what it is like to not understand.' It is at that moment that you can make something understandable."
Richard Saul Wurman from "The Infodesign Interview" at informationdesign.org

Information Design requires the skills of computer science, psychology, illustration, typography and many other skills to create a universally decipherable message within it's context and audience.

Instructional design follows similar disciplines in creating something that is easily communicated for a given audience and context. It begins with a problem, or a question, and follows through several steps in sequential order to come to a resolution and finalisation.
